Episode 76: "Khonani"
Tuesday Jun 16, 2020
Tuesday Jun 16, 2020
Who's ready to jump back to 2010 and relive the Jay Leno and Conan O'Brien Tonight Show scandal at NBC? Although we've covered our thoughts on this back in season one of Go To There in the " Tracy Does Conan" episode, 30 Rock topically covered the fiasco mere months after the dust settled. Their allegory? A janitor mishap wherein Jack blankets his Avery/Nancy dilemma with the Khonani/Subhas problem.
Elsewhere, Liz feels left out as she sees her staff out late at night, and vows to make them enjoy her mandatory fun party she invites them to.
And finally, Tracy's wife Angie is having some pregnancy problems, but Tracy goes out of his way to not help her. Can he learn to be a supportive husband before it's too late?
We did gloss over the Conan & Leno story mostly because we've already been over it in that season 1 episode, but also because other podcasts and media have devoted more time and resources for the whole tale. We urge you to seek out the Laser Time episode on the Matter "THE COMPLETE SAGA OF CONAN O’BRIEN’S TONIGHT SHOW" and the book "The War for Late Night".

This week's Go To There rings oddly poignant and topical given the current world events with racism around the world, and we urge you to donate and participate in the Black Lives Matter movement in any way you can.
